Cantigas de Jesu-Cristo
Cantigas de Santa Maria, written at the court of Alfonso El Sabio (king of Castile and Leon, 1221-1284), probably are one of the famous medieval musical codices today. And one of the most large - it consists of 427 cantigas and two separate prologues, i.e. totally 429 oeuvres. Four canigas manuscripts survive until today but only one - most likely the ancient one - Toledian ms. contains a small cycle of 5 masterpieces - Cantigas de Jesu-Cristo. Together with vocal Cantigas de Jesu-Cristo the ensemble plays instrumentally some other Marian cantigas from Toledian manuscript
